Magic Mountain to Lose Two From Its Mega Lineup
Two roller coasters are scheduled to be removed from Six Flags Magic Mountain. Both Psyclone (a wooden coaster replica of the famous Coney Island Cyclone) and Flashback (the last remaining Intamin Space Diver) will both be dismantled in the coming weeks.

Neither of these removals should come as a complete shock to coaster enthusiasts. RCDB reports that Flashback has been closed and operating sparsely since 2003 and Psyclone has been known for its rough ride. At ThemeParkCritic.com, a site where roller coaster ratings often skew a bit high, Flashback has a sad 4.4 out of 10 with 36 reviews and Psyclone has a miserable 3.9 out of 10 with 46 reviews.

Lastly, Cedar Point will once again become the park with the most roller coasters. Six Flags Magic Mountain will lose its crown as its total count will drop from 17 to 15. See the complete lineup here. With the addition of Maverick, Cedar Point will reach 17. This is a smart move for Magic Mountain as it aligns itself with the new Six Flags strategy of attracting families over the teen crowd. Expect more unpopular rides and roller coasters to be removed as they turn to more of a family focus.
