Cedar Fair Seeks Buy Out

Posted by

Did Cedar Fair Bite Off More Than They Could Chew?
After acquiring Paramount Parks last winter, Cedar Fair became the nation’s third largest theme park operator behind Six Flags and Disney. It looks like the 12 amusement parks, six water parks and six hotels might be more than they can handle. According to the New York Post, the company is quietly seeking a potential buyout from many of the same players involved in bidding for the Six Flags and Paramount acquisitions.

Bottom Line: Cedar Fair is a major player in the amusement industry as they run parks like Cedar Point, Knott’s Berry Farm, Kings Island and Kings Dominion. Cedar Fair managed parks are generally more popular with the coaster enthusiast community. This is a huge deal. It will be interesting to see what happens.
