Wow, I had no idea it was our first inverted rollercoaster, I guess that does make it a lot cooler. I guess I may have been disappointed because it didn't open up until about an hour before the park closed because they were doing work on it all day I was there and the thrill was gone since for hours before I was riding shivering timbers over and over just waiting for it to open up. Plus I was super worn out from the whole day so I was kind of in a daze. I'll have to go another time and ride it first thing.

I actually drove all the way from Pittsburgh to see how the "new" Thunderhawk compared with the one at Geauga Lake. I actually thought it was a bit smoother and the location is aesthetically pleasing. It looks good on the side of a nice, clean lake instead of dangling over the scummy marsh area of the lake at Geauga. I probably won't drive that far again to ride it, but I was glad to see that a Geauga coaster found a good home. Joel, I'll email you some photos that you can post if you want.

I road this rollercoaster at the beginning of summer and it really wasn't that exciting for me. I love roller coasters buuut I'm 5'3 and the shoulder restraints were up so far it didn't hold me in place and my head was bashing against the sides the entire time and my neck hurt for a few weeks. Plus I couldn't really see anything because of how far the restraints are up in front of you. Which is probably safe but I was in the front seat so I was kind of disappointed.

I have a question... is this coaster identical to the Mind Eraser SLC's? If so, do you know if it is/will be (I'm not sure whether or not it's open) any smoother than the others? According to Wikipedia, the restraints and stuff were going to be replaced to match the new color scheme and to "improve the ride experience". By the latter comment, do they mean the pain experienced by average riders will be reduced, or will the pain be eased for those who are bothered by incongruent color schemes? Since I go to Michigan every summer to visit family, it's likely we'll go there... but I live 45 minutes from Six Flags America, and don't want to bruise myself on a Vekoma I could just bruise myself on at home. Well, even if it is another Mind Eraser clone, at least Michigan's Adventure has lots of other fun rides for me to ease my pain on. :)
