Welcome to a New Season of The Coaster Critic’s Blog
The majority of the parks in the U.S. (aside from the parks in California and Florida) will be opening for the season this month. March also marks the return of several of my special features.

The Return of Top 3 Thursdays
On Thursdays expect a short countdown of anything that involves the theme park industry. Topics in the past have included: The Most Annoying Things at Theme Parks, Extreme Airtime Coasters, Best Dark Rides, Coaster Movie Appearances, and a lot more. See all of my Top 3 Thursday posts.

Roller Coaster Showdowns
Also, I’ll be writing more Roller Coaster Showdowns where I’ll pit two coasters that are often compared against one another. Last year’s Top Thrill Dragster vs. Kingda Ka spawned an interesting discussion that resulted in the readers picking Cedar Point’s Top Thrill Dragster as the winner.

Memorable Coaster Moments
Every Monday look for my Memorable Coaster Moments posts. With these posts I’ll write about an unforgettable moment of airtime, a surprising inversion, or a landmark like Loch Ness Monsters’ downward helix cave.

As always I hope to write more coaster reviews including one for my favorite coaster which I’m saving for my 300th post. There are also more theme park reviews on the way as well. Lastly, I hope to visit the new Hard Rock Park some time season. My other trip may be to Indiana Beach or a combined Rye Playland – Coney Island trip. I haven’t decided yet. Thanks for reading.
