Possible Beer Deal Could Rock the Theme Park Industry
Belgian brewer Inbev, (makers of the nasty tasting, but increasing popular Stella Artois) made a $46 billion dollar bid this week for Anheuser Busch. Why is this making news on The Coaster Critic’s Blog you ask? Well, Anheuser Busch is a major player in the theme park industry with two world-class parks in Busch Gardens Africa (Tampa, FL) and Busch Gardens Europe (Williamsburg, VA). Not to mention the chain of SeaWorld, Discovery Cove, and Aquatica parks. This could spell a big change in the management of these parks if the acquisition goes through.
InBev has made an effort to ease tensions of job losses at the major breweries and headquarters in St. Louis, MO, but with acquisitions, you never know. More at MSNBC.
