Saw: The Ride Coming to Thorpe Park

October 18, 2008

Saw Roller Coaster - Thorpe ParkThorpe Park Announces Saw: The Ride for 2009
Thorpe Park recently announced the name and theme of its 2009 Gerstlauer Eurofighter. It will be themed after the popular horror movie series, Saw. The ride will feature a 100′ climb and a beyond vertical drop of 100 degrees. Saw may be in the same vein as Dollywood’s Mystery Mine which was also a custom Eurofighter.

I didn’t know that the Saw series was so popular in the UK, but apparently it is. If you’re a fan of the movies, the you’ll really appreciate the site.

**Warning this site is not appropriate for children.** Check out the official web site for Saw: The Ride.

As you can see from the photos above, the ride’s already pretty far along and should easily make its Spring 2009 target opening date. Any British coaster enthusiasts excited about Saw? Leave a comment below. Images courtesy of Thorpe Park.

OMG.I am so damn scared about the show SAW.Its so damn scary. Each time I watch the show I have to ask my mom to come sit with me.But the coaster seems nice.Accept the pic of the coaster with the doll……and I shouldn't have gone into the site.It was scary.(Note:I am only 11.)

I'm surprised that they named it after Saw. I always thought that only people who didn't really know much about the Horror Genre liked the saw movies. I guess I was wrong. The other thing that bothers me is that the name implies that only non-seasoned coaster riders will enjoy it, and it will subject one to extreme pain. I think I'll pass.

Shirako, when you see warnings like "not appropriate for children", since you're 11, that means you buddy!

Right when you leave the station, the begining of this ride is insane. Well the beginning of this ride is really why they called this ride saw. I think its kinda neat they have a little intro on this ride
