Thrillator: For the People, By the People

I love web sites that use new technology and change the way we learn, connect, and share information. In the theme park webiverse there aren’t a lot of cutting edge web 2.0 web sites. Even theme park blogs and podcasts are just really starting to take off in the amusement park community when both have been around for several years.

Knoebels Removes High Speed Thrill Coaster, Adds New Ride

Knoebels is a Central Pennsylvania park that’s small, but beloved by enthusiasts for its old school traditional feel. This winter, the park removed the ironically-named High Speed Thrill Coaster. I skipped the coaster when I was at the park, but from the looks of it, it wouldn’t be a high speed thrill for my two year old. I know that

Last Call for Free Beer at Busch Parks

If you’ve ever been to a Busch park like the African-themed park in Tampa or the European-themed park in Virginia, you’ve seen the Budweiser Clydesdales and no doubt noticed that the parks sell the company’s beer. I had no idea that they offered free beer at the hospitality centers. I DO remember that the Williamsburg, VA park had free brewery

Roller Coasters at Ski Resorts

Who says you can’t get your roller coaster fix in the winter? Typically, if you live outside of Florida and California you have to wait until at least March for your nearest amusement park to open. In the last few years, German company Wiegand, has installed their Alpine Coasters at many ski resorts throughout the World including four in the

Hard Rock Park Closed For Good

No Revival for Hard Rock Park Myrtle Beach’s doomed Hard Rock Park will likely never reopen. Last Friday, the park converted its bankruptcy from a Chapter 11 to Chapter 7. The change in bankruptcy status was made because the park was unable to find any bidders willing to pay $35 million for the $400 million park by the December 15th
