This Friday: Live Updates from Carowinds Carolina Cobra Event

Carolina Cobra Media Day at Carowinds

This Friday morning I’ll be tweeting live from the Carolina Cobra Media Day. So follow me on Twitter to get all of the live updates. I’m not a texter and don’t have unlimited texting, so I will be using SpinVox to send out my tweets. SpinVox is a service that translates voice mail messages into Facebook status updates, blog posts, emails or even tweets. The voice recognition software isn’t perfect. I’ve done a few test tweets and it interpreted my “It’s Coaster Season” tweet as “It’s Close to Season”, but hopefully the tweets will make sense. Also, become a fan of my Facebook page for exclusive images from the event.

Just in case you’re not familiar with Twitter, the site’s tag line is:

Twitter is a free service that lets you keep in touch with people through the exchange of quick, frequent answers to one simple question: What are you doing?Follow Me on Twitter

People recieve updates in a variety of ways. Most do it via text messages to their phones. I’m also hoping to add a stream of updates to the blog. I’m generally not the earliest adopter of the latest social networking sites. I usually make fun of them for a while and then realize their coolness or value. Finally, I begrudgingly join. I used to think blogs were kind of stupid before I realized that it’d be a great way to right about my favorite topic and chronicle my travels. So anyway, check back to the blog or sign up for updates.

I anticipate that the new trains will make some difference but I’m just not a fan of cookie cutter coasters. Also, being from around Cleveland it is sad to know that this is a coaster from Geauga Lake.

It was sad to see what happened with Geauga Lake Matt. And you’re right, Vekoma Boomerangs are pretty common, but the new train DOES make a difference and makes the cookie cutter coaster at least a little unique.

I’m one of the 28 First Public Riders this morn. First seat in second car. New trains helped alot. Alot better ride than when in Geauga Lake. new restraints are great, no hard padded bar on your shoulder. has a padded flexable strap on shouders and bar is a good bit from you. Still another little coaster for carowinds. been waiting so long for a great one to arrive, one day it may come.

Rod, hang in there. Signs are pointing to 2010 being a big year for Carowinds.
