  • Freestyle Music Park’s Michael Jackson Memorial Weekend

Freestyle Music Park in Myrtle Beach, SCMyrtle Beach, South Carolina-based Freestyle Music Park is having a Michael Jackson Memorial Weekend. From their official press release:

Freestyle Music Park will host a Michael Jackson Memorial Weekend Friday, June 26, Saturday, June 27 and Sunday, June 28 to celebrate and memorialize the life and times of the “King of Pop” Michael Jackson.

In remembrance, the Park will have a memorial wall set up outside the main gate where guests and fans can come to write their thoughts and memories of Jackson. The Park is also allowing fans to leave flowers, candles and Jackson-related materials at the memorial.

In addition, throughout the weekend, any Park guest who either wears a single white glove, dons a red zipper jacket, or wears white socks with dress shoes will be admitted to the Park for $5. The admission price of $5 ties into Jackson’s beginnings in the music industry with his family as The Jackson 5. The Park will also be accepting donations from guests for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, which was a Jackson-supported charity. -Read more at Free Style Music Park’s Web Site

    Freestyle Music Park's Memorial Garden

Freestyle has a Memorial Garden that has remain unchanged since its Hard Rock Park days so while this might seem a bit weird, it does go with the park’s music-related theme. So many people were touched by Jackson’s music and many are seeking an outlet or way to express themselves so I think the memorial wall and the promotion are a good idea. Although, I’m sure it will bother some people.

Yeah, some insensitive people are definitely going to post inappropriate things on that wall, I just know it.
And the $5 thing is a sweet deal… wish I lived closer.

Nice to hear from you Emma. Been to any parks lately?

I hope they do as much as they can to get the word out. With only a days notice I wonder how many people they’ll get. $5 admission should get some serious attention.

To my brother, he was his hero. He started singing and writing songs about 3 months ago. When he first saw Thriller, that was when he started. I thought it was pretty amazing.
