Myrtle Beach Trip

I’m off on another coaster trip. This time I’m taking the family to Myrtle Beach, SC. While we’re there I hope to re-visit the revamped Freestyle Music Park. It will be interesting to see all of the changes the park has undergone from when it was Hard Rock Park. I’d also like to go to Family Kingdom Amusement Park, so

Roller Coaster Accident Injures 11 Children in New York City

On Sunday, a kiddie roller coaster known as a Dragon Wagon tipped over injuring 11 children at a New York Church Festival in the Bronx. The Wisdom Rides Dragon Wagon is a portable roller coaster that seems to be using a trailer as its base or station. Some smaller parks have permanently installed the ride. Below, I inserted an overhead

Return Trip to Waldameer

Tomorrow I’ll be returning to Waldameer in Erie, PA. It’s home to the 2008 Golden Ticket Winner for ‘Best New Ride’  Ravine Flyer 2. I liked Ravine Flyer 2 so much last year that it landed at 8th on my Top Coasters list and 5th on my favorite wooden coasters. Read my full Ravine Flyer 2 review. Last year, I

The Coaster Critic Returns to Space

I finally got around to refreshing my other site, Coaster Portal. It’s a new take on the old school link directory that includes web site profiles, user ratings and reviews, general theme park web site news, all in a space themed package. I really want the site to be more Web 2.0 and interactive than link sites of the past.

Mind Eraser @ Six Flags | Coaster Reviews

A Review of Mind Eraser & Its Many Clones The concept of Vekoma’s Suspended Looping Coaster (SLC) is a great one. It’s a compact inverted roller coaster(even though the model name has ‘suspended’ in it) with riders fixed below a tangle of twisted track. They are popular additions at theme parks with about 30 clones or slight variations around the globe. I’ve ridden the Mind Erasers

Big Bad Wolf to be Removed?

Big Bad Wolf is a world-class suspended roller coaster at Busch Gardens Europe. It’s unique layout uses the terrain of the hilly, wooded, park giving you an experience that would be nearly impossible to find anywhere else. It’s a suspended terrain coaster that flies you through a Bavarian village then plummets you to a river. Also, Big Bad Wolf is a classic
