That is crazy! Not hard to believe though since those cars are huge.

And that thing has to be pulled up a 210 foot lift hill too haha. Can you imagine the stress?

Thank God B&M and busch parks know what they're doing. Busch Gardens maintenance is second to none.

Alex, I looked back at my crazy, messy hand written notes from the tour. Luckily, I have a PDA now for future trips. Anyway, the Griffon trains weigh 9 tons each. The Arrow Loch Ness Monster trains were substantially less, but I don't have their weight in my notes.

^I would guess. If I'm not mistaken, most of that outer shell is fiberglass.

Funny you mention the weight of the trains. Zach did give us the weight of Griffon's trains. They're quite a bit heavier than Nessie's. I couldn't find it in my notes from the tour though. I'll try to follow-up with the park to see if I can get those figures. When I do, I'll update the post.

Griffon is my second favorite ride in the park, apollo's chariot being the first lol.

Did you ever notice that the supports that hold griffon up on the first hill and brake run wobble… alot? Especially after griffon stops at the top of the 1st drop. I'm not sure of the weight of the trains… did you get any specs on that?

The ship fleet you saw is the mothball fleet… it's about 30-40 old naval ships that are probably going to be used for weapons testing or sank to make reefs. I'm surprised you can't see the surry nuclear power plant from there haha.

Griffon is great for alot of things. Especially the amazing view from the top. Seeing the brewery makes me wanna get a beer

So, on the twist to the drop, it actually drops 5 feet? That explains how it can move over there without motors.
