Here’s a first look at the new GT Coaster Challenge (now Fiorano GT Challenge) opening this year at Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi. The trains are themed after Ferrari F430 Spiders. Fittingly, the roller coaster will be a launch roller coaster. If the Roller Coaster Database listing is correct it’s being built by Maurer Sohne, the same company that built Hollywood: Rip, Ride, Rockit. It will feature two racing tracks that will complete with a finish line. Here’s an image sent to me directly from the park:
I’ll see if I can get more details or images from the park, but so far it looks pretty cool. Fiorano GT Challenge coaster will be one of the twenty rides and attractions at Ferrari World when it opens in the second half of 2010. Among the other rides is the much anticipated F1 Coaster that aims to be the new speed champ with a blistering top speed of 150 mph! If they accomplish that RingRacer will have to settle for the “World’s Second Fastest” or “Fastest in Europe” title. I’m sure that Ferrari World will be a huge draw for car enthusiasts all over the World.
What’s Your Take?

Wow… I'm not even sure that 150 mph will be easy. Kinda Ka by it self already stretches your face, Ring Racer is probally worse, but who knows what this would do.

thought so, what are x-cars like?

The cars resemble the Intamin Reverse Free-Fall cars. It may be why the cars and track don't look really M.S.

Wow, 150 m.p.h. That's fast. I wonder if humans will ever make a coaster that makes it all the way to 200 m.p.h.!
