This ho-hum looking ride found in the kiddie section at my home park, Carowinds has a wild alter-ego. I had always wondered about the interest hardcore theme park fans had in flying scooters or flyers as their called. Flyers can be flown with very little movement and taken as a nice, breezy ride. Or, riders can play the role of

Middlebury, Connecticut’s Quassy Amusement Park is now home to another Gravity Group creation. This time out, they’ve reached in their proverbial bag of tricks and produced a family wooden coaster. Perhaps the most interesting thing about Wooden Warrior is that we’re now able to see those potentially game changing timberliner trains in action. I’d love to hear some reviews of

New Hampshire’s Canobie Lake Gets a Compact Looper in Untamed Canobie Lake’s new Gerstlauer Euro-Fighter looks like fun. It’s a compact little ride, but from early reviews it sounds like its just the right size for the park. Its rapid fire layout boasts a vertical lift, 97-degree drop, vertical loop, immelmann, and a great looking zero-g roll. I really like

Recently, I was asked about the highlights of my 5 years of blogging. Getting to talk to the people behind our favorite theme parks and roller coasters has to be one of the biggest thrills of this adventure. Back in 2009, I had the opportunity to speak with Louis Alfieri who was one of the designers behind Rip Ride Rockit.

My wife was invited to Carowinds’ media event for the new Snoopy Starlight Spectacular. The new attraction features more than a million LED lights covering trees and buildings in the Planet Snoopy area. In order for guests to enjoy the beautiful lights, Carowinds is staying open later (until 10 PM). Our kids are pretty young (4 and 1), but we may try

One of my favorite things about the theme park season is all of the speculation for the next theme park season’s roller coasters. Sure I enjoy trying out this year’s latest and greatest, but there’s just something exciting about the unknown and Dollywood’s 2012 roller coaster is a perfect example. I’d seen notes from ScreamScape about some land clearing for

UPDATE – The announcement has been made. Read all about Theme Park Hype Next week, look out for a massive announcement that I’m going to share on the blog. Like I said back in my 5 Year post, my upcoming projects won’t be shrouded in mystery and subterfuge like they have in the past. That’s mostly true as next week all

Reader James submitted this detailed review of one of the UK’s best looking rides. It’s always great to get a little international flavor on the blog. Saw – The Ride at Thorpe Park Thorpe Park is a medium-sized park just outside London. Around 10 years ago, there wasn’t much to be desired here, apart from a standard log flume and

This is a photo of Kings Dominion’s Shockwave. As much as I dislike it, for its rough, jerky hills during the second half, there are still some who enjoy it. At least it never produced an extreme amount of leg pain like Mantis at Cedar Point. After the not-so-great reviews of Green Lantern, Six Flags Great Adventure’s reborn stand-up, I started
