Shambhala @ Port Aventura | (You)Report Review

May 20, 2012

(You) Reports - Submit Theme Park NewsShambhala, the new roller coaster in Port Aventura opened a few days ago, on the 12th of May. As I expected it was smooth and provided large amounts of airtime. The first drop in the back was great and the tunnel was a nice head-chopper. The speedhill (which is the mini-camel) produces a great amount of air, I would call it ejector in contrast to the floater air in the camelbacks, and the splash was very cool too, as you are between the water as opposed to creating a wave behind you (like Diamondback).

The theming is very well done and the themed area is big, Dragon Khan has also been slightly re-themed as it stands next to Shambhala and looks like a new coaster too.
Here’s an onride POV video fo Shambhala at Port Aventura from Theme Park Review:

Am I the only one that thinks this looks like the best roller coaster in the world? I LOVE B&M Hypers and this looks like the absolute best Hyper coaster around! It has a great length with lots of hills, tunnels, and other theming. It looks like it can be the best coaster ever. Definitely on my most wanted list. Hope it makes top ten in golden ticket awards.

Your not the only one. This coaster looks amasing with the speed and air time alown. But after the tunnel, splash down, and very sweet turn around this coaster it looks like it will be one of the best on the planet.

This morning I was there!!! rode it like 10 times and I won't say it is the best hyper in the world, but definitely the best I've been on, and i have been on Apollo's Chariot, Nitro, Silverstar and Expedition Geforce… hope i had rode Bizarro to compare… Anyway, it was amazing, the drop was very intense, consistent airtime on every hill, the turnaround/helix isn't very intense but you feel the Gs and it is truly disorientating, and finally the splash is ok, but I'd prefer it to be natural (it would send water higher). It is also with no doubt the best themed hyper coaster in the world, and my new favorite coaster (better than AC and Nitro, sorry)

I don't agree on this… There just is no airtime at all :s
It's an amazing coaster and supersmooth but not the best (not even the best of the ones you mentioned in you post). I'll take Expedition Geforce all day long because of the insane airtime :)
