Fun Spot’s New Wooden Roller Coaster – White Lightning
Orlando amusement park, Fun Spot Action Park, is adding a Great Coasters International wooden roller coaster for 2013. I mentioned it in a post about unannounced and rumored 2013 roller coasters. Now we know the ride will be called White Lightning and the park has been posting construction photos as they prepare to build one of Florida’s few wooden roller coasters.

With theme parks like Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, SeaWorld and Disney nearby, I’d have to imagine that Fun Spot has an entirely different target. I’ve never visited, but they’re probably aiming for a more laid back and less expensive experience. So, a family-friendly woodie like White Lightning looks to be a good fit.
I’ll check out the ride the next time I’m in the Orlando. New wooden coaster credits aren’t easy to come by. Plus, I haven’t been on a new GCI woodie in quite a while. Recently, the park posted an image of a sign advertising White Lighting. In it, you can see how the trains might be designed. I hope that they end up with this look. The theming on the front car is a very nice touch.
Here’s a POV video of Funs Spot Action Park’s White Lightning:

Looks like a great first coaster for the kiddies. Probably fun for adults, as well.

It looks fun. I bet that double up hill will be great also. Wild One at SFA has a double up and it's very cool. Too bad they aren't doing a double dip. I just did the one on jackrabbit and loved it! Another top moment for me…

Fun spot is a very casual experience… It’s a nice break from everything circled around it, and has a world class go kart track. I hope that this coaster does not get the attention it deserves because if you want a short, cheap thrill in Orlando then this is easily the best place to go.

I'd have to say I'm always happy to see some new wood born and I would ride it if I'm in the vicinity (no double entendre i swear).

Although short and small, the pacing and speed over those hills make it seem like it would be a air-time filled ride. That's what I make out from the video at least.

Fun Spot is a great place for tourists and locals alike. When you don't want to deal with long queue lines and huge crowds, their two parks are a great alternative for a relaxing but fun day. The addition of White Lightening will definitely boost their guest attendance.

If you look at the all 3 of the videos the turn around that turns you back towards the first drop is different in the fun spot videos. Look very closely guys.
