When I interviewed Brad Thomas, he shared that nobody does Christmas like Silver Dollar City. Apparently, with over 5 million lights (350 miles worth!) he wasn’t kidding. Here’s an excerpt from a press release about Silver Dollar City’s An Old Time Christmas:
One of the nation’s most acclaimed Christmas festivals, Silver Dollar City’s An Old Time Christmas presents two original musical productions: It’s A Wonderful Life and A Dickens’ Christmas Carol. Ranked as one of the world’s top holiday events by CNN.com, and one of the nation’s top by USA Today, Good Morning America, The Travel Channel…the park dazzles with the acclaimed five-story special effects Christmas Tree and an encompassing light-and-sound show on the Square, a Holiday Light Parade, and more than 5 million lights, running November 2 – December 30 at the Branson, Missouri theme park.

And, here’s a video of the Gifts of Christmas Holiday Light Parade. It boasts 8 lighted, musical floats with 100,000 lights, and 18 costumed characters.
Aside from the impressive light displays and shows, the park’s also promoting night rides on their critically acclaimed new roller coaster, Outlaw Run. I’d imagine riding that wild ride in December would be quite a chilly endeavor; especially with the 68 mph, cold wind in your face. But, if I were anywhere near Missouri, I’d give it a go. The entire Christmas festival sounds really cool.
